Zen Flute

The ZENflute is a deeply personal instrument created for relaxation, breath awareness, and meditative practice.

It was developed as an accessible alternative to the traditional Chinese Xun—an instrument renowned for its grounding, inward sound, yet often difficult for most people to play with ease. After extensive experimentation, the ZENflute emerged as an intuitive, ergonomic design that places the emphasis on sound and presence, rather than musical complexity.

Inspired by an ancient Chi Gong breathing exercise, the ZENflute supports breath meditation and solo practice. Instead of humming, your breath is transformed into a calm, resonant tone, naturally guiding you into a slower, more attentive state.

The instrument is tuned to a pentatonic scale with five notes plus the octave. Any combination of finger holes produces harmonizing tones, making it nearly impossible to play a “wrong” note. This allows you to relax into exploration, letting breath and sound lead the experience.
