Xylophone - Kastha Tarang (8 Bars)

Literally meaning “the voice of wood,” these instruments are found across many regions of Africa and Southeast Asia, and today are widely present around the world through music education and orchestral contexts.

Xylophones appear in many forms—from the simplest Amadinda, consisting of bare, tuned wooden bars, to more developed sets made from selected hardwoods with pipe or box resonators. Across cultures, they are built and tuned in diverse ways. In this collection, they are presented in a range of pentatonic tunings, emphasizing clarity, accessibility, and elemental musical relationships.
