Palmyra Rattle

Made from a single Palmyra nut, this instrument combines a seed shaker with small dancing bells. Originating in Tamil Nadu, it uses materials from the Palmyra palm—one of the region’s most characteristic and versatile plants, traditionally used for food, building, thatch, and medicine.

Its light, rhythmic sound carries the character of South India, inviting a simple and tactile musical exploration through movement and listening.
